"There was not one single day that I did not see respect, dignity, and good humor being shown to the residents, regardless of the level of their capabilities. Not only does the staff bring stimulation, laughter, and care to the residents, they also provide invaluable support and peace of mind to their families."

"When I left her in your very capable hands, I felt as if I were leaving a transfer student at a new college. Some time would be necessary to meet new friends and to adjust to different routines. Mom loves her dining companions and has already introduced me to a number of new friends. You offer a wide variety of choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Mom has already selected her favorites."

Dear Maytha,

Our sincerest appreciation to you and the members of your staff for a most beautiful and memorable Mother and Daughter Tea on May 10, 2018. It was a lovely way to segue into our special day on Sunday.

The minute the guests and residents entered the lovely room they knew a special treat was in store for them. They were not wrong !

The servers were helpful and gracious. The food varied and delicious. Your poem was a most appropriate opening for the afternoon and it was very meaningful to all of us. The entertainment was low keyed, different but enjoyable. The paparazzi (photographer) was unexpected, but she was so charming who could refuse her! The result will be a great momento of a special “moment in time.” Everyone left in a good mood. Their reactions and comments were overwhelmingly favorable.

You have a small staff, but you all have a big impact on our daily lives here at The Bristal. Thank you!

Sincerely yours,
Faith Radler, pres.
Resident Council

To the staff of The Bristal,

Thank you for welcoming my parents and making the transition go so smoothly. I had arrived ahead of them to get the apartment set up. Starting with Paul and Edward at the front desk who were so friendly and helpful, to Margie and Noria from the health center. The ladies from the activity center made more than one trip to the apartment to welcome them! ([While] they were delayed at Dr. appointments)

*A special thanks to Simeon who went above and beyond to get their TV up and running and in the right spot! He was a charm!! Nothing was a problem for him.

Of course, Sarah was making sure that everything ran smoothly – and Jennifer over the past weeks has helped tremendously. Let me not forget Chris who came to meet them and explain how the housekeeping department works.

I’m sure there were other people who assisted throughout the day.

I feel everyone was helping from the heart – not just because it is part of the job.

Thanks –

Lisa (Edith and Peter)

Dear Dina:

It has been a pleasure for our mom to be a resident at The Bristal over the last 2 years. She is making her transition as well as can be expected, now, in a nursing home.

I wanted to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Reflections, from her most wonderful aides, who treated her with kindness and respect, to the nursing staff, housekeeping, maintenance staff and reception. My sister and I are most grateful for all their care and concern.

There is one particular person, who, throughout these 2 years has been an ever present source of help and concern. She never missed a beat in handling our concerns and always was so pleasant and happy to be of service. We would like to thank NOVA for all she did to make us feel that we had someone who knew how we felt and made sure things went smoothly. Nova is a wonderful asset to The Bristal.

My sister and I thank you all.

Sincerely,
Rose Polis

Dear George,

On behalf of Enid Roth, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful care she received at your facility. From the very beginning when Stephanie made more happen in the last four hours on a Friday afternoon than most people get done in a week, we were able to get Enid registered and checked in in less than 24 hours.

Everyone in the memory ward was amazing. Lindsay and Tammy were always there for Enid and I was continuously aware of how much they loved her. Shauna and Sharon always so caring and kind; Joanne, Jennifer and the entire staff were so professional and uplifting. My family and I will forever remember them.

Thank you as well for running such a beautiful and caring facility.

All my best,
Cynthia DePaula

"My dad recently moved in and seems very comfortable and satisfied with everything at the property. He tells me the staff is always smiling, accommodating, and willing to please. I can’t tell you how relieved we feel and look forward to the future and many more good years. I must say you have a first class operation with every detail covered. I have and always will recommend your properties to my friends, family, and business clients. Thank you again for everything."

Re: Kerianne
Dining Room Manager

Dear Ms. Caroppoli,

It is with great appreciation I write this letter to you. We reserved the Private Dining Room for our aunt’s 88th birthday on Sunday, June 11 2017. Kerianne was our hostess and she was outstanding.

Kerianne has served our aunt often and consistently offers a kind and understanding manner. She has patience “like a saint” and adapt skills as a waitress. She did it all with ease and still smiled at my aunt’s sharp attitude.

The dining room was gorgeous when we arrived. The service was impeccable with a fruit appetizer already waiting for us. The food was timely and quite good. Kerianne was sensitive to both my aunt and our family. She was able to adjust easily to different relatives arriving at different times. She found candles for us (which I forgot), cut the cake for all, and even wrapped it up to go.

Over the past two + years, we have received first-rate service from many of your staff. Kerianne is one of those employees who went above & beyond to make this a special occasion for my aunt. I know she felt surprised, special, and appreciated that day because she talked about it for days afterward. She may not remember the day for too long, but we will, and that makes all the difference. Thank you Kerianne!

With great appreciation,
Judith & Family

"Thank you for helping me transfer to Lake Grove so smoothly. Everyone from Administration to Wellness to Housekeeping, to Maintenance, went out of their way to help me. It's good to know that I have kind and competent people here when I need them. I love having morning coffee on the porch overlooking the garden and meals in the lovely dining room. And I think the many lounge areas are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Although I have been here only a short time I have a feeling of peace and well-being. and hope to be at The Bristal Lake Grove for a very long time."

"We had wanted to keep my father at home with my mother with the help of aides, but as dad's Alzheimer's advanced it became increasingly evident that this was an unrealistic option. After meeting with [the staff] at The Bristal at Lake Success, we realized that there was an opportunity for dad to have a better quality of life. Since becoming a resident at The Bristal, we have noticed some amazing changes as my father has become much more verbal and we see that he enjoys engaging in activities that stimulate and encourage group participation. My father appears to be much calmer and when he does have moments in which he is stressed or angry, the staff are quite skilled in redirecting attention. Residents are treated with respect and are cared for by the entire staff. Every member of the staff knows and greets my father by name which always brings a smile to his face. The facility is beautifully laid out and have a very welcoming feel. Resident apartments are extremely clean and well maintained. Although in less than a month, The Bristal has far-exceeded my expectations."
