Reflections is designed to support residents with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other forms of cognitive impairment. All programs in Reflections are designed to reinforce a sense of place and purpose for our residents. We include the family in our efforts, so our residents feel supported by a circle of care that is comforting, dependable, and rooted in understanding.

Residents participate daily in programs that are enriching, while keeping in mind each person’s skills and interests. By creating an atmosphere of familiarity and consistency, we keep our residents invested and engaged in the world and the people around them.

Alzheimer’s Day Care is offered at The Bristal at East Northport and The Bristal at White Plains. With our Alzheimer’s Day Care Program in Reflections, your loved one gets all of the same exceptional, highly trained attention, as do all other Reflections Memory Care residents at The Bristal – the only difference is they do not live there full time. At all times, they feel safe, welcomed, purposeful, and loved – exactly what they need most.

A typical day for Alzheimer’s Day Care participants at The Bristal consists of:

  • Participating in exercises, interactions, and therapeutic programs designed to enhance memory skills and improve quality of life
  • Enjoying lunch and a snack
  • Engaging with our attentive staff of senior care experts
  • Being monitored for wellness throughout the day
  • Socializing with other residents
  • Receiving any required medication
  • Being fully integrated into the Reflections community

Our Place Memory Café

Open to families of both residents and non-residents, the Our Place Memory Café is a space for families and their loved ones with dementia to gather together. The cost of memory care varies based on apartment type, location, individualized programming, and level of care. Reflections, The Bristal’s specialized memory care program, includes numerous services and amenities such as safety and security measures, highly trained staff, private living spaces, and specialized programs. In addition, upscale amenities like chef-prepared meals, a salon, a cinema, daily housekeeping, a fitness center, and a creative arts studio are also available to residents.

Yes! Friends and family are encouraged to visit, participate in their loved one’s care, and become involved in daily programs. Regular visits help residents feel supported by a circle of care that is comforting, familiar, and dependable.

Residents in Reflections enjoy fun, individually-paced, daily programs facilitated by a compassionate, understanding team. 

Examples of programs include art and music classes, reading circles, creative writing, cultural programs, live entertainment, and therapeutic exercises to enhance memory skills.

Yes. The Bristal at Lake Success is a community fully dedicated to memory care. Residents have the opportunity to participate in memory loss research being conducted at the Feinstein Institute of Northwell Health. This is a voluntary research program that takes place in the Institute’s onsite suite.

Residents at select communities of The Bristal have access to the Foresite Predictive Health and Fall Management system. Foresite utilizes artificial intelligence and deep learning to monitor the health and wellness of residents, predict the risk of falls, and to alert staff immediately should a fall occur.

Yes, Alzheimer’s Day Care is currently offered at two of our communities: The Bristal at East Northport and The Bristal at White Plains. Participants enjoy all of the same services and amenities as memory care residents — without the overnight stay and private living area.

Alzheimer’s Day Care participants engage in activities, have lunch and a snack, socialize with other residents, and are monitored for wellness throughout the day.
