Dear Lara,

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the invaluable assistance and support you extended to me during my mother’s illness during August/September this year. You and your team in the front office/front desk made the Bristal the very special place that it is.

Wishing you and your family a very happy holiday and the best for the new year!

With deep appreciation,

Marc Schieber (Harriet Winstein’s son)

Dear Lara, Allison, Sheryl, Vera & Staff

I wish I could stay with my parents 24-7 forever but I can’t. I need to go back to N.C. now but feel comfort knowing they are in your excellent care.

The East Meadow Bristal is top quality, superior living for my parents and others, thanks to a job well done by you and your staff.

Thanks,

The children of Francis and Lucy Naimole

Good Morning Ms. McKeon,

My Mom Alice Joseph was a resident at Senior Care/Bristal in Lynbrook for the last five years. Circumstances dictated that I place her in a nursing home this month.

From the very first contact I had with Mr. Alan Parker it was a pleasure. He came across as a very understanding person and not just another administrator. He was very helpful in acclimating my Mom to her new surroundings. At times I felt he was going out of his way to assist his staff with my Mom who could be a little difficult at times. Mr. Parker never seemed to get upset but just went about managing the day to day operations at the site in a calm proficient manner. I sensed that he was well respected by his staff also.

I know that he has been in this profession for a long time and that is reflected in the way the site is operated.

He exhibits a quiet expertise in what he is tasked to do. I have had several personal conversations with him over the years and always felt that he truly cared about my concerns and the concerns of other family members. That’s what your business is all about, right? I don't know if you know it or not but I think you can go to sleep at night without any worry about the operations at Al's site. He is really an asset to the Bristal organization and your particular division.

I would also tike to comment on Supervising Care Taker " Parthenia" and evening Custodian "Billy" (I'm sorry I do not know their last names).

Parthenia has also been very helpful. She has advised me in terms of my Mom's latest moods, clothing and toiletry needs. This was especially helpful during the times I was unable to visit my Mom for a period of time. I always knew that Parthenia knew what was going on with my Mom and would keep me informed. I believe she took a personal interest which was great. She also showed patience at those times that my Mom was being a little cantankerous. She is to be commended.

I often saw Billy at night when I visited my Mom. From time to time I would need something for my Mom's room (toilet paper, light bulb, etc.) and I would ask Billy if he could help out. He was always friendly and ready to be of assistance. He was respectful to me and my Mom which I always appreciated. I never got a sense that I was imposing on him while he was attending to his regular duties. He was particularly helpful to me on the day I had to vacate my Mom's room and remove her belongings. Billy is alright.

I also found Receptionist Inette very professional and friendly when I called the site. She is an excellent Receptionist.

I was not particularly happy that I had to transfer my Mom from the Bristal at Lynbrook and will truly miss these folks.

William Joseph

To the wonderful and caring Bristal staff,

Although Steve and I were unable to attend the “Connie Francis” afternoon spectacular, we would like to thank you for going that ‘extra mile’ and making our Mom, Charlotte, feel so very special!

Mom and Ernie have been very dear friends for over 50 years, and Steve and I know how much this day meant to Mom. The flowers you gave to her were sooo beautiful too!

You made a special lady, up there in her years, feel extra special!

May your thoughtfulness find its way back to you. Connie told me how gracious the staff was to her, and for that a very special thank you!

We will always remember your kindness, your thoughtfulness and consideration!

Last night on the phone, Mom said to me, “Arl, I think I’m a star here.” I told her, “Mom, you’re always a star with us!!”

Thank you for everything!

Arlene

Dear Maryellen,

I just wanted to thank you so, so much for providing exceptional service to all of your residents. But I am writing mostly to express my sincerest, heartfelt "thank you" for making one of the dearest people to me, Charlotte Sukoff, very happy. Seeing her so radiant when I visit makes me feel wonderful. Keep up the great work. -Paulette

Dear Paulette,

Thank you for the compliments. Making our residents comfortable and content is our mission and our pleasure.

Assisted Living: Exceptional Service

Dear Mr. Parker,

Thank you so much for taking the time and reassure me about Merrill. After seeing you I stopped for lunch, then went to Meadowbrook when I arrived, Merrill was rushing to catch the bus back to the Bristal, so we didn’t have time to talk. I’m sure I’ll catch up with him soon.

I compliment both you and your staff. On both my visits I’ve been greeted and assisted by friendly, helpful, caring, and knowledgeable people. Thank all of you for your efforts on my behalf and am glad to know Merrill is in such good hands.

Sincerely,

Harriet W. Luce

Dear Maryellen,

There was such a wonderful masquerade ball at the Bristal Lynbrook on Saturday. My Mom is just as perfect as perfect can be. She was so happy and involved. I thank The Bristal everyday for the wonderful care they provide. -Rae

Dear Rae,

We hope your Mom continues to do so well. Of course, that's our goal, and we'll continue to provide the best possible care and support.

Regards,
Maryellen McKeon

Note From Family Member About the Masquerade Ball

Dear Ms. Mc Keon:

My mother, Barbara Bauer, has resided at The Bristal for the past seven years. Most recently, she has been cared for in the Reflections Unit The entire Reflections staff has always treated her with dignity and compassion, but her care has been even better since Sandra became director of the unit. She is knowledgeable and professional, always responds to our concerns, and sets an excellent example for her staff.

It is difficult to name ail of those who arc taking such loving care of my mother. I'm sure there are plenty of times individuals have been exemplary without me even knowing. But 1 do want to bring to your attention some of the employees whom I have observed providing exceptional care for my mother. Soline plans activities that are stimulating and offers a way to constructively pass the long days my mother faces. The monthly family nights she organizes are enjoyable to both my mother and me. Lola seems to take special care to serve my mother exactly what she wants at dinnertime. Martha is always patient and positive, even when my mother is having trouble being cooperative. Zofia has diligently cleaned her room, and even reminded me when she needed some toiletry item. I have been present when Phyola has stopped what she was doing to patiently assist my mother immediately.

During my visits to The Bristal I have been continually impressed by the Reflections Staff. Their respect and excellent care for my mother arc much appreciated.

Yours truly,

John Bauer

To Laura and all the Reflections Staff,

We just want all of you to know how grateful we are for all the wonderful care you gave to our mom, Carole, over the past two years. You all made a very difficult situation much easier to bear and for that we are so appreciative. Thank you for your caring, kindness, and professionalism. We shall always remember it.

The Dunleavy Family

Dear Lara

Compliments to you and your entire East Meadows Bristal staff for how well you handled the three recent emergencies – flood, hurricane, and earthquake.

It was a pleasure to see how each Dept. cooperated and pitched in wherever and whenever needed. It didn’t go unnoticed.

We were fortunate to be in a safe environment with your staff and their great continued efforts protecting us with care and concern.

It is difficult to name everyone individually – however, please convey my personal thanks for all those that served us so well.

In appreciation,

Ellen Lester
