Every day, team members across the Suffolk County communities of The Bristal bring dedication, creativity, and compassion to their work, helping create welcoming and engaging experiences for residents. During Team Member Appreciation Week, those same qualities were reflected back to them through a week designed to make team members feel recognized, valued, and appreciated.
Across Suffolk County, The Bristal communities filled the week with special activities, shared experiences, and thoughtful expressions of appreciation, giving team members plenty of opportunities to enjoy the festivities together.
As Amy Silva-Magalhaes, Chief Operating Officer of The Bristal, shared, “We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to each and every member of our incredible team. Your dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment are the driving force behind our success.”
A Little Fun Goes a Long Way
Team Member Appreciation Week brought plenty of opportunities for friendly competition and laughter. Across Suffolk County, team members took on trivia, scavenger hunts, relay races, obstacle courses, karaoke, musical challenges, field day activities, and games of all kinds.
At The Bristal at East Northport, the festivities included Nerf competitions, Family Feud, an ice cream truck, games and music, a flower bar where team members could create their own bouquets, and a Name That Tune karaoke challenge.
At The Bristal at Lake Grove, the team embraced a different theme each day, with superhero and band tee days, karaoke, a mechanical bull, obstacle course, scavenger hunt, team bingo, a caricature artist, and plenty of prizes and treats throughout the week.
Meanwhile, The Bristal at Mount Sinai turned the week into a series of games and shared experiences, with daily trivia, musical chairs, relay races, a BBQ with a DJ and photo booth, field day activities, a dunk tank, human foosball, and even a Sumo Suit Dance Off Challenge. Mount Sinai also used the week as an opportunity to support The Spark Foundation, raising funds for the organization’s mission of providing assistance to team members of The Bristal and their families during times of need — with one team member pledging to shave his head when the fundraising goal was reached.
At The Bristal at Sayville, an 80s-inspired week brought a dose of nostalgia to the excitement, with themed meals, dance challenges, musical chairs, Rubik’s Cube games, arcade entertainment, Name That 80s Tune, and other throwback-themed activities.
Thoughtful Ways to Say Thank You
The celebrations weren’t just about games. Throughout Suffolk County, communities also made time for team members to relax, recharge, and enjoy some well-deserved treats. Massages provided well-deserved relaxation, while treats like ice cream, snow cones, acai bowls, and others appeared throughout the week.
At The Bristal at West Babylon, lunch came with a message of appreciation through a “Heroes for Our Heroes” celebration, while The Bristal at Holtsville brought the excitement of a carnival to team members, complete with a juggler, Skee Ball, dunk tank, yard games, and more.
These thoughtful details reflected the spirit behind the week. Appreciation doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it simply means creating an opportunity to pause, have fun, and let people know that their efforts are seen.
Celebrating the People Who Make a Difference
While the activities varied from community to community, the purpose remained the same. Team Member Appreciation Week created space for colleagues to celebrate the bonds they have formed, the challenges they have overcome, and the successes they have achieved together.
As Amy continued, “Your passion and resilience continue to inspire us all. Let’s continue to support each other, grow together, and celebrate our successes as we strive towards even greater accomplishments.”
The memories created during Team Member Appreciation Week have been special, but the people they celebrate are what make each community special every day. Across Suffolk County, the week was a reminder that when people feel valued, supported, and appreciated, they can create something meaningful together.
