During Team Member Appreciation Week, communities across New Jersey took time to recognize the incredible people who make those moments possible. From team-building activities and friendly competitions, to special treats and opportunities to relax and reconnect, The Bristal at Englewood, The Bristal at Waldwick, The Bristal at Somerset, The Bristal at Wayne, and The Bristal at Woodcliff Lake each found unique ways to celebrate their teams.
As Amy Silva-Magalhaes, Chief Operating Officer of The Bristal, shared during the week, “This week is all about you. While we could never say thank you enough, we’re going to try! With special events, surprise gifts, shoutouts, and small tokens of our gratitude, every gesture is meant to celebrate YOU!”
A Week Filled with Gratitude and Connection
Across New Jersey, each community brought its own personality to Team Member Appreciation Week. At The Bristal at Englewood, team members enjoyed a week filled with friendly competition, including basketball, cornhole, trivia, relay challenges, and games like Jenga and water balloon toss. The celebration also featured a team member barbecue with a DJ, sports jersey costume contest, chair massages, and opportunities for colleagues to enjoy time together throughout the week.
At The Bristal at Waldwick, team members were treated to a variety of activities designed to bring everyone together, including breakfast stations, game show-inspired challenges, carnival games, a dunk tank, a festive summer barbecue, dancing, massage, and plenty of sweet treats. The Bristal at Somerset also created opportunities for team members to unwind and celebrate, with poolside games, a summer BBQ with music and dancing, chair massages, and an ice cream bar.
While every community celebrated in its own way, the message was the same: the people who make a difference at The Bristal communities every day deserve to be recognized.
Putting Appreciation into Action at Wayne
At The Bristal at Wayne, Team Member Appreciation Week was filled with moments designed to encourage teamwork, laughter, and connection. Throughout the week, team members participated in activities including a watermelon eating contest, volleyball, tug-of-war, a water balloon relay race, an obstacle course, a patriotic cup game and patriotic scavenger hunt.
This community also created opportunities for team members to relax and enjoy one another’s company, with team socials featuring waffles, ice cream, hot dogs, and lemonade.
One especially memorable moment came when the leadership team at Wayne found a creative way to show their appreciation: washing team members’ cars as a gesture of gratitude. The simple act reflected a powerful message: appreciation is more than words; it’s the gestures that count.
Through every game, gathering, and thoughtful act, Wayne’s celebration highlighted teamwork and dedication which help to make the community special each day.
Bringing Island Spirit to Woodcliff Lake
At The Bristal at Woodcliff Lake, Team Member Appreciation Week brought team members together thought a series of thoughtful celebrations throughout the week. The festivities began with a taco lunch and continued with rounds of trivia, opportunities for relaxation with complimentary chair massages, and a tropical Hawaiian-themed BBQ complete with music and island-inspired decor.
The week concluded with a visit from an ice cream truck, giving team members one more opportunity to gather, enjoy a sweet treat on a summer afternoon, and celebrate the contributions they make to their community every day.
