The Bristal understands the important role that staying socially active plays in keeping ourselves happy and engaged – we all feel better when we make time to have fun! Our team of recreation professionals are continuously seeking new and innovative way to help residents stay active – especially given the current environment. From delivering the supplies for painting projects to themed dance parties (socially distanced, of course), there is an activity for everyone. When there’s a will, there’s a way, and we are certainly finding that way! Here are just a few of the ways we’re staying active:

Gloria G. celebrated her 90th birthday in grand fashion! A resident of The Bristal at East Northport, Gloria was showered with gifts, including a putter and a specially made birthday cake, that were all delivered by the recreation team. One of the positives of our current situation is the availability of technology to help us remain connected with friends and family. The videos, pictures and letters we have received -- in addition to virtual chats -- have been a daily dose of joy! Anne and Cris Bottari are always willing to try something new. They recently experienced their first Zoom meeting - at 95 and (almost) 101 years old! - and set the bar pretty high for the rest of us. Their session included all 5 of their children, almost all 11 grandchildren, and almost all 5 great grandchildren! In addition, all 4 granddogs, 2 grandcats and 1 grandbunny were in attendance. #connectionscorner #thebristal #thebristalassistedliving #keepingconnected #stayingactive ...

#tbt to not so long ago when Irwin H. from Lake Success was gearing up for the excitement of college tournament basketball. Though the current situation has led to so many changes for all of us, including in the sports world, some things remain the same - like Irwin's free throw being on point! We hope it brings a little smile to your faces. #thebristal #thebristalatlakesuccess #lakesuccess #assistedliving #memorycare #stayingactive ...
