The Bristal understands the important role that staying socially active plays in keeping ourselves happy and engaged – we all feel better when we make time to have fun! Our team of recreation professionals are continuously seeking new and innovative way to help residents stay active – especially given the current environment. From delivering the supplies for painting projects to themed dance parties (socially distanced, of course), there is an activity for everyone. When there’s a will, there’s a way, and we are certainly finding that way! Here are just a few of the ways we’re staying active:

Mr. Wilk, resident at The Bristal at White Plains, celebrated his 102nd birthday yesterday! The festivities looked a little different this year due to social-distancing requirements, but the celebration was no less special. Family members sang through the window, and employees went above and beyond to decorate and prepare all his favorite treats. Mr. Wilk definitely felt the love and we wish him the happiest birthday!⠀

The Bristal is fortunate to have so many talented residents who are willing to share their gifts with others. Bill H., a resident of The Bristal at Sayville, entertained his fellow residents with an impromptu concert in the courtyard. A trumpet player with his own band during the era of Benny Goodman, Bill played tracks from his album while accompanying on his horn. It was a lovely concert that everyone enjoyed. Thank you Bill! #thebristal #thebristalatsayville #assistedliving #stayingactive ...
