Community is at the very heart of who we are as a company. Simple connections, like coffee with friends or dinner with family, serve to refresh and renew our spirits. While the connection part looks a bit different due to our current circumstances, our relationships remain stronger than ever thanks to technology and tech-savvy staff helping residents stay virtually connected with loved ones! We’ve also found new and fun ways to communicate and share our messages of love, hope, and positivity – like our Connections Corner. Here are some recent posts that showcase how we’re all keeping connected.
New York Mets fans at The Bristal had the chance to chat with two members of the 1962 Mets team - former pitchers, Jay Hook and Craig Anderson. Residents at Lake Grove, Massapequa, and Wayne hopped on Zoom to discuss the future of the Mets and baseball the way it used to be. This once in a lifetime opportunity wouldn't have been possible without today's technology, the help of our team members at The Bristal, and of course the generous @mets! Thank you for making this dream come true!

There were plenty of balloons, gifts, and treats as Morre C., a resident of The Bristal at Jericho, celebrated his 102nd birthday! His family visited with him through his apartment window, and surprised him with a custom folding table that featured photos from past family events. Millie R., a resident at The Bristal at Lake Grove, was understandably upset when she learned she wouldn't be able to attend her grandson's wedding in person. Thanks to her family and staff at Lake Grove, she was able to attend virtually via Zoom. Although she wasn't familiar with using virtual technology, Millie quickly learned how to unmute her microphone so she could greet other attendees, and more importantly -- commentate on the beautiful ceremony! #thebristal #thebristalatlakegrove #assistedliving #lakegrove #keepingconnected

We are so thankful for the local businesses who have generously donated goods to the residents at The Bristal. @plessers_appliance in Babylon sent portable DVD players to our communities so residents could enjoy our extensive movie collections from the comfort of their apartments. Sprint sent care packages to our Holtsville community that included puzzle books, postcards, pens, lotion, and more. We appreciate their thoughtfulness, which provides residents with even more options for #stayingactive and #keepingconnected.
From car parades to Zoom calls -- it has been wonderful to see the creative ways families are using to stay connected. One of the sweetest so far is the private cello concert that Timmy gave to his grandmother, Eileen W., a resident of The Bristal at Holtsville. 🎵 💙 #thebristal #thebristalatholtsville #assistedliving #keepingconnected

It was a sweet celebration, and Agnes loved every minute of it! #thebristal #thebristalatlakegrove #assistedliving #keepingconnected

Anne and Cris Bottari are always willing to try something new. They recently experienced their first Zoom meeting - at 95 and (almost) 101 years old! - and set the bar pretty high for the rest of us. Their session included all 5 of their children, almost all 11 grandchildren, and almost all 5 great grandchildren! In addition, all 4 granddogs, 2 grandcats and 1 grandbunny were in attendance. #connectionscorner #thebristal #thebristalassistedliving #keepingconnected #stayingactive
