Westbury Visits the Whaling Museum

Westbury residents took a trip to the Whaling Museum in Cold Spring Harbor. The purpose was to learn about the art of scrimshaw and eventually try our hand at it to create a scrimshaw project. It was interesting to examine some whale teeth that sailors carved their designs on. After the project was completed, we took a tour of the Whaling Museum. It was a beautiful day with an added bonus – the ride along Cold Spring Harbor was spectacular!
