Ever since the March BBU Lecture on Science & Technology, we’ve been exploring this topic all month and having lots of fun with science. A very simple chemistry experiment taught us how to clean pennies! By mixing a solution of vinegar and salt, the reaction creates a solution that can be used for cleaning up dirty pennies. Just take a look at how shiny we were able to get them. Just make sure you rinse them well…otherwise the solution will speed up the oxidation process and turn the pennies a blue-green color.
