Earlier this month, the Bristal at Westbury’s Knit and Crochet club presented the National Council of Jewish Women with dozens of handmade hats, scarves and lap robes. The hats and scarves are being donated to the Hempstead Inn and will keep many underprivileged recipients cozy and warm this winter. The lap robes are given to juvenile cancer patients. Every year, residents of The Bristal combine efforts with the women from the NCJW for some charitable project. At year’s end, a Tea Party is held at The Bristal to make the formal presentation. The gracious ladies from the NCJW spoke to all the residents and thanked them for their efforts.
