Testimonial: I am a friend or relative of resident (5 / 5 Stars)

Posted by: The Bristal

The staff members at the Bristal at North Woodmere are very friendly and genuinely nice people. They have supported my mother in her adjustment to her new surroundings. We can all feel secure that my mother is a push-button or call away from any help that she might need. Lectures, concerts, and special parties are always being planned. All in all, it was the right decision for my mother to move here and we would not hesitate to recommend the Bristal at North Woodmere to anyone who is considering an assisted living option.

Testimonial : I am/was a resident of this facility (5/5 Stars)

Posted by: The Bristal

I have been a resident of The Bristal at North Woodmere for over five years although it doesn’t seem that long.

From the “Wellness” personnel through housekeeping and the wait staff in the dining room, we could not ask for a more friendly or cooperative group.

The facilities are complete and utilized with great enthusiasm by the residents.

I have had occasion to visit a number of facilities on Long Island and have found none which can approach The Bristal at North Woodmere.

Testimonial: I am a relative of a resident at North Woodmere (5/5 Stars)

Posted by: The Bristal

Not only does it look like a hotel but most importantly they employ a staff who care for the residents with compassion and professionalism.

My father spent 18 months there in the memory unit. They made every day of his life as best as it could be even when he was difficult. My mother entered the Bristal in the regular unit, recently. I can sleep at night knowing she is safe and getting great care when needed. If you are looking for a facility for a family member or friend there is no better place.

Testimonial from Eulalee Murray

Posted by: The Bristal

On behalf of my husband Collin Murray who was a resident at the Bristal Assisted Living at N. Woodmere from 11/20/12 to 9/19/14, I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to the members of your staff and especially to the Reflections staff who worked with the Dementia patients including my husband, your effort should not go unnoticed. My visits there from time to time were net with courtesy and so much respect. The love and care that they all extended to Collin was so remarkable just how much they cared for his well being. A very big “Thank You”.

Nassau County Executive Candidates Visit North Woodmere

Posted by: The Bristal

Just days before the election, Nassau County Executive Candidates came to visit us here in North Woodmere. Incumbent County Executive Ed Managano, unfortunately, could not make it. His wife, Linda, came to represent him and we were happy to chat with her. Later in the day. Tom Suozzi stopped by to pay us a visit. It was so nice to be able to speak directly with both of them. On November 5th, Ed Mangano was elected for another term. We’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to come see us!

Harvey Granat Performs at The Bristal

Posted by: The Bristal

The very talented Harvey Granat has performed for us in two of our communities so far, with two others already on the calendar! In October and November, Harvey is bringing us the music – and the history – of George Gershwin. In January and February, we’ll be treated to another round of performances dedicated to Cole Porter. Harvey’s talents won him rave reviews. This is a sampling of what the residents of The Bristal had to say:

“The performance last night was absolutely superb. We felt like we were at a show in Manhattan.”
“The show last night was a real class … read more

Fundraising Efforts for Alzheimer’s Disease

Posted by: The Bristal

We’d like to extend thanks to all of The Bristal communities for their recent efforts to raise both funds and awareness for the fight against Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. Collectively, The Bristal raised over $10,000 and donated it to various organizations dedicated to the cause! While all of the communities actively participated, our Westbury Team wound up raising the most on their own – over $3,000! Here’s a photo of Colleen Jones, the Director of Reflections, and one of her team members, Al. Colleen led the efforts in Westbury and we’re grateful for their contributions. Announcing Our Holiday Card Contest Winner 2013

Posted by: The Bristal

Creative expression, at any age, is an enjoyable way to spend time, energize the mind, practice dexterity and, quite simply, let the good feelings flow. When we at The Bristal decided to ask our residents to submit their art work to appear on our holiday card this year, our intention was to engage them in helping us create a truly personal visual message. We also wanted everyone, including our instructors and art therapists, to have fun. What we discovered in the process is that there is a remarkable pool of talent … read more
