Testimonial from Terry DeSimone

Posted by: The Bristal

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know how wonderful the staff at The Bristal at Massapequa was before, during and after Hurricane Sandy. Although there were many staff members personally affected by the aftermath of this storm, the day-to-day operations continued as flawlessly as possible. Everyone pitched in to make sure that we as residents were warm, comfortable, happy and most importantly, safe.

A Letter of Appreciation After Hurricane Sandy

Posted by: The Bristal

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know how wonderful the staff at The Bristal at Massapequa were before, during and after Hurricane Sandy. During the crisis, it was comforting to see that all Directors were available for our safety and security. Astrit, our Maintenance Director did an incredible job running power from the generator to where it was needed most. The kitchen and dining room staff were able to serve hot, satisfying meals as if they were fully functioning. Maria, in activities, kept us entertained and distracted us from the devastating effects Hurricane Sandy brought to the rest of the area.

The two have known each other since 1981 and both have been VFW members for over 40 years. We were proud to host the meeting, and glad to see the reunion of old friends.

“Art of Talent” in Massapequa

Posted by: The Bristal

Massapequa held an exhibition of resident artwork called “The Art of Talent.” It showcased the amazing art that our residents have made throughout their lives. Several projects were recently completed during art classes, while some were works accomplished earlier in the artist’s life. We all enjoyed fresh baked cookies while we admired the work of our talented residents.

During my dad’s stay at The Bristal, Tracey always showed a caring attitude toward him and always kept us abreast of his progress…Tracey was very supportive to both him and us and she made an overall effort to make certain that my dad’s needs were being met with all support staff ranging from aids, to kitchen staff…She is a true professional in her chosen field and I think you are very fortunate to have her on staff.
