In Westbury, the festivities for the 4th started the day before. Residents helped frost and decorate hundreds of cupcakes for their party. Then, we enjoyed a terrific barbecue lunch served by our Food Service Director, Paul and our Dining Room Manager, Rob. Afterwards, everyone celebrated at a grand party with entertainment. There was lots of singing and dancing, and a good time was had by all! Also, Recreation Assistant Elizabeth helped with the Bell Ringing Ceremony – a ceremony held across the nation, sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution performed to commemorate the original 13 colonies. She then led the residents in a round of patriotic songs. Red, White and Blue Italian ices were served afterwards to make the afternoon festive.
