Girl Scout Troop #2047 from Fairfield Elementary School in Massapequa spent time on 9/11 to share and exchange what it means to be American. Residents and children each designed the flag with stripes where they wrote their shared ideals onto. The final project resulted in a child with a flag and picture of the Bristal resident while the Bristal resident kept the flag with the child’s picture. Each flag had different ideals and values of what it means to be an American. At the start of the program children were asked if they talked about 9/11 at school and shared those conversations with all present. |
